Tramco Brewery 16 years 6 months ago #1

Went to the new(ish) tramco breweery last night for the first time. They were doing free, very tasty homemade burgers out in the beer garden. I had a pint of their stout, it was very tasty too. It had a dryness I hadnt experienced with stout before.

But there was a big problem. It was absolutely dead, less than 20 people in it at around 12.30. This was on a Friday night. I know that they are undergoing a big transition from what it used to be but it has been open for a while now and still not bringing in the crowds. And it seems they have no one to blame but themselves; there wasn't even a sign saying "free burgers inside" to draw people in. Maybe I was just unlucky last night but from what I saw it won't be around much longer

I've been a few times now and agree that the stout's lovely, the free food is great, but there's never anyone else there.

Perhaps it's noteworthy that their Twitter feed[/url:1rksgr75] tells you lots about the special offer prices for Coors Light and Bud, but not a single mention of the house beers so far, that I've seen. This is in a city where 35,000 people showed up to Farmleigh to try speciality beers last month <!-- s:roll: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_rolleyes.gif" alt="" title="Rolling Eyes" /><!-- s:roll: -->

Article on the revamp in The Dubliner magazine (October issue), on the shelves now.
GM told me they were trying to do a very soft opening, so I might still expect an official launch party to be coming some time soon.
