Porterhouse cocktails 16 years 8 months ago #1

I was in the Porterhouse with Irish party ale the other night and he started mixing porterhouse beers.

The ones he tried were. Plain with wrasslers-> not as boring as plain or overly unboring as wrasslers.

Oyster and Hop head-> Bizarrely nice no idea why.

So Have you ever done a porter like mix of beers? What other beers would mix well together?

Is there some reason why beers from the same brewery would mix better then ones from different breweries. Does using one yeast similar hops etc make them more complimentary?

Dammit - do you have to tell everyone my bad habits?!
I had a quick google on 'half and half beer' and it threw up equal mixtures of guinness and harp <!-- s:shock: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_eek.gif" alt="" title="Shocked" /><!-- s:shock: -->

Here's a couple of Belgian beer cocktails I've heard of,
A Rasberry Garden is half Rasberry fruit beer and half Hoegaarden
A Trip Trap, mix a bottle of Westmalle Dubbel with a bottle of Westmalle Triple, warning I have tried this one and the effects are devestating, tastes nice but I dont need to do it again

They have a Rasberry Hoegaarden (rosé) in belgium, probably because of that! Hoegaarden Citron was another, really nice shandy type drink, about 3.5%. Very refreshing.

Goig over again this weekend!! Love the place, they've the best beers in the world if you ask me

Surely a Westmalle 2.5 was the obvious name?

How about a purgatory and a rebel red? I think they might go together.
