Any real ale in Kilkenny? 16 years 8 months ago #1

I'm heading down to Kilkenny next week for a few days and was wondering if anyone knows of a decent pub selling beers which don't originate from Diageo?

I'd say the only place you'll find naturally carbonated beers is The Wine Centre off licence on John Street.

Thanks, maybe I'll take a few homebrews down with me. Was hoping there was somewhere that had real ales on cask. I've been to Kilkenny a number of times and don't ever remember anything other than the usual beers on draught.

You can read Hendrixcat's account of a recent visit to the city here[/url:1uq1j9g1]. The title says it all.

Used to live in Kilkenny. Great place, great pubs, awful beer. As The BeerNut said The Wine Centre is the place to go, they have a great selection.

Good pubs are Cleeres, Ryans and Tynans Bridge House. Stay away from the super pubs up the top of John St though.
