Well that explains why I couldn't get any Sierra Nevada/Goose Island /Anchor on my last visit. Very disappointing.

In abbotts on friday r getting a bit better on prices but eastern european spirits r taking from the beer. The Abbotts will not be a player in 6 months

Despite the negative comments about the Abbots it would be pity if it does not survive, The bar draught range is a bit hit and miss but the bottle range, while not as good as previously, is still miles ahead of most bars with great glassware and very pleasant knowledgeable staff, The bar is definitely one of cork's drinking gems.

Offie beer selection is definitely smaller but if you nose around there are always a few good ones there. They obviously cannot compete with supermarkets,

me too, i love the abbots, always busy when i'm in there. offie does great deals and the taps always have one or 2 gems. i remember a Octoberfest style they had around November, it was absolutely delicious. almost kissed your throat on the way down

In the Abbots on Sunday last.

They have got in a few casks from White Gypsy - Had an IPA which was opened since Wednesday which Elaine did not ewant to serve as she felt it was gone flat. I was able to persuade her to give me a glass after an initial sample. Really did not know what to make of it - maybe it was gone beyond its sell by date.

Apparently they also have a cask of ESB and a third one (do not know what) which will br put on over next couple of weeks. Expect another one will be put on this Weds or Thurs.
