Yep, in the City of London particularly, it's pretty much exclusively the office trade so they don't bother opening weekends.

there's another bar there called the rake which is run by the people who own utobeer off-licence in the market itself. if you're in london on the friday or monday the jerusalem tavern is definitely worth a look.
stonch's beer map is very useful i found quinn's on the kentish town road there and enjoyed a few interesting belgian and german bottled beers.

Just back from a weekend in London, and based on recommendations I hit the Harp pub. Excellent little place, with a nice living room upstairs. The staff and clientelle are really friendly too. Good selection of beer also.

Another pub I'd recommend in the area, (just around the corner on Strand), is the Coal Hole. They do nice pies and sandwiches and have a few nice ales.
