I found out after getting a minibus out from Limerick!!! Still had a good night but missed the beer selection...

I feel I need to agree with all the comments posted so far. For me the loss of this beer oasis has left me feeling bereft. Alison at Tar's had been a greater supporter of my own brewing efforts and gave me much encouragement. <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt="" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

I understand her reasons for closing and they are very sound. The small light on the horizon is that se intends to keep her license and thoughts of one off events have not been ruled out.

Perhaps we might still see another Festival / Homebrew competition in lovely Killaloe / Ballina. <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

That's a valuable piece of paper just to hang onto for the occasional event.

This would be great but I'm not sure how likely that would be with the number of people who were at the last one. While there were many beers most of them were brought down by the one or two that were traveling.

True, but for a first time it was to be expected. Straight after the competition last year people were talking about making sure they got there for next years' one.

I would like to see another. (and enter it)

Are there any annual ones about?
