I was in Slainte in Stillorgan for the first time in ages, & was very impressed with Shanes interest and enthusiasm for beer... he was apologising cos he only had 5 or 6 IPAs in stock ! Apparently he normally has lots more but last weekend was unusually busy.
Anyway, he made up for his dearth of IPA with some Clotworhty Dobbin, Hobgoblin, Fiddlers Elbow and Edelweiss
Can we get him a green google sticker thingie? I tried myself but I think I made an oopsie!!

Have I (i.e. Google) got the location right?

how much was the Clotworthy Dobbin there (and everywhere else?). Its around €4.20 a bottle in Sweeneys which is outrageous!

With the poor exchange for the pound and the crossborder duty, it's going to be quite highly priced.
And it's going to be worse in pubs !!

But at least it's here

€3.99 in The Wine Centre in Kilkenny.
Mind you, the carriage charges might be a bit hefty from there to Dublin!
Any cheaper anywhere else?

"delzep":1i242azq wrote: how much was the Clotworthy Dobbin there[/quote:1i242azq]T'was 3.99 a bottle... I mentioned the price to price and he said that he had to cut his margin (normally 20-25% on beer apparently) in order to sell it at that. I seem to remember it was the second most expensive beer in the cooler, and the cooler was pretty full of belgian beers
Still, at least I can moan about the price as opposed to moaning about the lack of availability.
I was in getting a voucher for mates of mine and a few beers for myself and after a bit of chat and mentioning that I did a bit of homebrew he ended up giving me a bit of a discount and some glasses, so I feel surprisingly unripped-off after the whole experience
