Hows it goin ICB. Just starting out with the Extract Brewing and new to the forum so will be hoping to pick some brains in the next week or two leading up to my first batch..
Anyway, have been keeping an eye on the forum and fair play to all involved. Regards decent spots for a beer I find the Czech Inn a good place for a brew, Happily located between the B&C and Porterhouse Templebar! Urquell Pilsner, Budvar and some other Czech Beers on tap, and they'll put it in a proper mug if ya ask nice. They have good trad Czech music some nights, I only venture upstairs though, the downstairs is a bit of a disco affair.

Welcome to the site! Great to see another brewer coming out of the woodwork

I used to go to that establishement many moons ago, and have only been in it once since it became the Czech Inn. Unfortunately it was after 1am after getting turfed out of the B&C and we ended up beside the dancefloor downstairs. I won't describe the dancing, but it was drunken (me and my mates!). I didn't really get to appreciate the beers

I've had a bunch of ropey[/url:q4o708lo] pints[/url:q4o708lo] in there, but I've put it down to my preference for visiting in the afternoon rather than evening.

And welcome, westasleep.

Ya fair enough comment Beernut, i shall defer to your superior sobriety in tasting the beers. Think I got a few ropey ones there at one stage as well, followed by a 26 hour trip to NZ the next morning... ouch. Anyway if you're goin again leave it much later and head upstairs, good craic if nothing else, and if memory serves me (which it may not) it was well after 4am when we left the last time, without a DJ in sight. Don't know why its so had to find a late night boozer where you can have a chinwag without shouting. Know this topic has been covered before so i'll say no more, i understand both arguments.
