Decent Bar in Limerick? 18 years 2 weeks ago #1

Hey, I'm heading down to Limerick at the weekend so thought I'd have a look here to see if there were any decent pubs mentioned that'd have a couple of craft brews either in bottle or on draught.

Seen the University mentioned and another thread about a gastro bar rumour but not much else. Anybody know of a bar in the city centre with a bit of choice outside of the usual rubbish?

Cheers.

The Wicked Chicken serve Erdinger on draught, which may be a paradox depending on your definition of rubbish of course.

If you're lucky you might find a place that does Tiger though.

The Bar part of the Trinity Rooms has a good selection maybe a dozen types of bottled beers - Duval, Schofferhoffer etc. Other than that it is hard to find good beer in Limerick city.

Out towards Killaloe is Tara's Bar, which has an awesome selection, first thing you notice when you go in is the blackboard on a wall with all the types of bottled beer available(into the 100s). But would probably involve needing a lift or driving.

Nice one, I'll be with a few lads on a stag so won't be much hope of leaving the city centre to try Tara's bar unfortunately. But I might be down that way this summer so I'll check it out then..

Guess I'll have to try and steer the lads towards the Trinity rooms to get some Duvel or similar..

Cheers for the replies lads!

If you are near the uni you might try the granary in annacotty. Used to be my local for a time. Nothing special on draft but a nice place for a few pints, especially when its warmer and you can go out on deck.
