Walked past The Oak (fka Thomas Read, The Ivy) today and noticed it was being refurbished. The Times reported in August that BRÚ's owners bought it, though I've heard also that it'll be run as a Galway Bay bar. It's a great location.

Open from today. Looks great. They've made minimal changes to The Oak which adjoins it.

Yeah, been in a few times. It's a nice place. They're not going all-in on guest beers, though, the way Galway Bay pubs used to.
