After a long period of closure The Legal Eagle has re-opened beside the Four Courts. It's pretty much going for the food trade but it is possible to just drink. The beer selection is very decent: Porterhouse Red, Little Fawn, Lobo, Scraggy Bay couple of Five Lamps, a Beavertown and a Siren. There's one rotational at the moment: Rollover. Additional rotational taps and cask are planned. Pint prices are surprisingly good for newly-opened high-end: €5 the Red and the other Irish €5.20 or €5.40.

That place was going for an absolute song during the recession. I wonder how much was paid for it in the end?

Dunno, but it was in need of some pretty serious structural work, as well as a complete refit.

Ah, that probably explains why it was advertised so cheap.

It went for around 380k in early 2013. It died a died a death before that for a number of reasons, one of them being a lot of business left when the central criminal court moved down the quays.
