well thanks guys - you have given me a lot to go on...i was tiring of the same 6 beers that i find at every store i go into.

i think most people that have never been to ireland expect it to be a beer haven. hopefully one day it will be.......

one fine idea that homebrewers can make use of is starting a co-op similar to that of farmers. it makes supplies and ingredients that much cheaper, and has sometimes led to commercial success...i am not sure about the legalities here in ireland - but some of us used to decide on a beer of the month, all brew the same, and then gather for a tasting of each's interpretation of the brew.

i am sure you will find me scouring the beer map soon. thanks for the warm reception

I must confess that last year I very nearly travelled down to The Well Festival on Good Friday, planning to make a two day beer escapade of the trip.

Apparently having one's mind liberated and not suscribing to the quaint superstitions of the general population can have its draw backs. Who'd have thunk it?

Yes, and He's to blame for the pub closures.

Visual confirmation: there are two bottles of Rogue Chocolate Stout in DrinkStore, dated 22nd February and priced €5.79. They also have four new beers from Ayinger, including Celebrator at €2.99 for 33cl. No Carlow Celebration, though <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( --> Mind you, since they have O'Hara's and old bottles of Moling's at the ridiculous price of €3.20 a pop, I dread to think how much they'll charge for it if and when it does appear.

Five bottles, same vintage in Redmond's, who also [i:387r6mth]still[/i:387r6mth] have Porterhouse Celebration in stock.

Not sure how to do Drink Store by bus (37, 39, 70 and 172 sayeth Dublin Bus[/url:387r6mth]), but it is handy for Smithfield Luas stop. It's easily walkable from the city centre.
