[b:1fqlgb32]@Tim[/b:1fqlgb32] - What part of the city are you staying in?
Elbow Lane was nice the one time that I've been there. Everything, food and their own brew, was very tasty. It's small with very few tables and doesn't take reservations.
The same owners operate Orso and Market Lane. Market Lane is next door to Elbow Lane, a lot of people like it but I've always found the food really boring in there.
Orso, on the other hand, has never disappointed me. It's a really small space too and you might have to wait for a table but I highly recommend going there for lunch.
Or get food from Orso to go and sit in the Bierhaus. They're 5 minutes apart. <!-- s8) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_cool.gif" alt="

I like the Franciscan Well, I don't go there very often but it's nice for a pint or two.
There's a place in between the BH and the FW called The Friary - I wouldn't waste my time...
The Cotton Ball is a bit of a trek on foot and there's not much else in the Mayfield area to recommend. Parts of that place are sketchy enough to be honest.
[b:1fqlgb32]@Andrew[/b:1fqlgb32] - The White Rabbit has gone to the dogs. I went there twice in the space of a week during its early days. Lovely stuff, good beer. My missus & I went there a few weeks ago and it was terrible, standards have seriously dropped. Both our dishes took 30 minutes to come out and, when they eventually arrived, the food was cold. I had a quiet word and they took the food back into the kitchen. 3 minutes later it arrived back barely lukewarm and dried out. It's a shame because Cork really needs something like Bison Bar, Pitt Bros. etc. and I was hoping The White Rabbit would be it.
There's a new place called the Holy Smoke that's doing BBQ but I haven't eaten there. It's next to Porterhouse Cork (I think) - a place I haven't been to in a long time.
[b:1fqlgb32]@Tube[/b:1fqlgb32] Are you talking about the restaurant right next door or the take-away where Uncle Pete's was which is a few doors up? The restaurant has had about 7 "Grand Openings!!!" in the last 3 years. Nobody can seem to make the place work. The take-away place looks average at best - through beer goggles it may look different. I turn right when I come out of the Bierhaus to avoid all temptation. <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="
