So I just saw on twitter that the beerhouse on capel street are charging half the price for half the beer, are many others with decent beer doing the same?

Do the cottage group do this also? I think I remember them saying something similar before.
The beerhouse is actually very good value for pints also. Many of their pints are sub 5 euro. They have a decent selection of bottles also.

More and more places are starting to do it (incl ourselves).
It's a good idea in craft bars so people can enjoy several styles / seasonal beers from all the various micros.

We have always sold half pints this way

I do like the idea of half a pint = half the price but I can understand why it shouldn't be. Basic economies of scale, when you go into a pub you are paying for;

a bartender, a (clean)glass, a stool, heating, lighting, possibly security, possibly entertainment and an amount of beer.

For comparison, an 8oz steak is always more than half the price of a 16oz and no one ever complains.

I hear some youngsters fill up on frozen burgers at home before heading in to city centre steakhouses.
