Ireland Tour - any recommendations? 12 years 6 months ago #1

About to embark on a tour of Ireland. I'll be checking the Beoir Directories of course, but I'd be grateful of any personal recommendations from other members as well.

Visiting Rosslare, Waterford, Cork, Cobh, Limerick & Dublin.

I'm a reasonably active member of CAMRA, so if any Beoir Regional Reps fancy meeting up for a pint & a chat, please do not hesitate to let me know.

Thanks

The obvious places in Cork are the Fran Well on North Mall, which has a micro brewery out the back. The bierhaus up the road on Popes Quay that has a massive selection of bottles, and interesteing specials on tap, and also has the bierhall next door, which has a decent selction of beer and food. The abbots alehouse is just up the road again, on coburg st and has an off license downstairs, with lots of Belgium beers, and a small interesting bar upstairs that often has some cask ale. Blairs Inn out in Cloghroe close to Blarney is another place worth checking out, as very scenic with good food, plenty of Irish beer, and usually something on cask from Dungarvan.
