Abbot Ale is their regular cask in Derry. I never buy it though. Ruddles and GK IPA aren't great either.

There'd be good money to be made for a micro if they got the contract to make the regular Irish cask.

I would rather pay €4 for a decent Irish cask ale than €3 for a boring English one. GK Pale Ale is pretty boring. There are Irish beers served by either draught method that leave it standing, there are plenty of English ones also.

I think we're all so accustomed to rip off Irish prices, that paying €4 a pint would seem like a bargain.
Just coming in a putting cask on the bar at a price appealing to the value conscious could create a market for cask ale that basically doesn't exist in Ireland. Brewers will make it if they know they can sell it.

Very true, although €4 a pint isn't bad value. You get what you pay for. I remember JDWs selling an ale for 89p in London, it was over priced.

I like to call this the "Addicted To Cheap Shit" syndrome. Usually the same people who defend horsemeat-as-beefburgers.
