As far as I'm concerned, banned some occasional timeouts, the speed of the website is satisfactory.

What version are you on?

2.12 (I think that's the point release it's on anyway). I have been planning an upgrade to phpBB3 for ages, but there is no stable bridge between the "new" version of Joomla (1.5) and phpBB3 yet. The bridge is needed for single sign-on and synchroising the user databases. I've done a test port over to phpBB3 and it looks great (had to make a new template) and the search uses the database properly, so no stupid words table.

site seems good now, had some probs but nothing worth complaining about. time outs are few and far between in my experience.

Keep your malware protection up to date. A major US beer site, ratebeer.com, just got completely wiped out by a particularly vicious malware attack. Slow service is still better than no service.

Yes, I've had all sorts of virus warnings from ratebeer recently, and Google has been periodically blocking the site. I think little ol' ICB isn't quite as attractive to hacking attacks like that. It was probably someone who doesn't like BJCP style guidelines <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P -->
