Wasn't there something about this before some advisory committee of the EU in the last year, something along the lines of shipping of beer on a mail order basis within the EU, the duty would be paid in the country of origin as goods and services should have free movement etc. etc.

But it was shot down against the recommendations of said committee.

Sorry to be so vague but it's only a patchy memory in the back of my brain, and the workings of EU bureaucracy is something I could live without being too involved in.

i don't know if anyone remembers but a crowd called <!-- w --><a class="postlink" href="www.german-beer.ie">www.german-beer.ie (site is dead now) were trying to set up a delivery service for non-mainstream german breweries, it was on a subscription base where you would get either 6 or 12 a month and they'd basically get a selection of beers from 1 brewery each month.
think the hassles of trying to get it sorted made them give up, as i think once they got agreement from the irish revenue then the german revenue would complain about something so they went around in circles. shame really it was a great idea and they seemed like nice people (father and son doing it).

that all being said, how does thom get his camra selection in without duty??
