I was hoping for some variety at one location although I could move from one to the other and include the porterhouse....

Just go to the Porterhouse. There'll probably be Hop Head.

Come to Cork for the Oktoberfest beag

Good fun, even if it is a paulaner only job

The Paulaner one does allow walk-ins, but the tables are reserved. Its in the mansion house. There was a german band alternating with a DJ early on before the real German cheese DJ came on. Loads of hand slapping and drinking songs. I had a good laugh at it anyway.

They have the Oktoberfest on tap and the darker weiss beer. The rest of the range are in bottles behind the bar.

The Oktoberfest is available in the porterhouses and a few other bars as well.

After an incident involving some eejit and a Mass Krug -Plastic glasses are to be supplied at this after 6pm or so
I usually go in the afternoons anyway so it wont make much difference to me but i would imagine it will seriously take from the evenings fun -unless they will have plastic masskrugs - we shall see
