Dingle Brewing Shares 13 years 9 months ago #7

I emailed also and received a very prompt reply with an application form but little else. The form included agreement to terms of a "Memorandum" which I then also requested - I have not received any reply since....

The prospectus linked above was for BES investment with a minimum of €5,000 in "A" shares whereas this one is for "D" shares. The application form mentions that "10% of the company is being made available through the issue of (these) D shares" so it does seem to be some form of investment (rather than just paying for a plaque on the wall). Without more information (which is very sparse), it is difficult to assess it financially, but hopefully that will be resolved soon. It would be nice to be able to support something like this - good luck to them.

I had the pleasure of meeting Jerry and Xav recently.
It seems that they are going to change their current brewery into a distillery and upgrade to a considerably larger brewery

Here's what I got, it's quite a long read.

[quote:11jwllrm]Many people would say it is crazy to open a new business in the teeth of a vicious recession, even crazier to open a business which will be competing with giants in the industry but we were not going to let such matters stop us and one year later we are glad they didn’t.

Dingle Brewing Company opened its doors in July 2011 producing "Tom Crean’s Fresh Irish Lager" and supplying it in Keg directly to the Publican. One year and over 100 brews later and the lager is now being poured in 14 outlets throughout Dublin (Temple bar, Rathmines and Ranelagh), and various select pubs and restaurants in Kildare, Killarney, Cork and of course Dingle. In fact the pubs in Dingle are now selling numerous kegs of Crean’s a week and it is far outselling products from the much larger, more established breweries. There is currently a substantial waiting list of premises throughout the country all eager to supply our Crean’s lager to their customers. There is also a large demand, both nationally and internationally, for the product to be supplied in bottles. Not to mention the jobs which have been created for the local economy.

It has been a great year for both the Dingle Brewing Company Visitor Centre and our Tom Crean’s Fresh Irish Lager. The visitor centre which offers visitors a chance to ramble around the brewery, view the process, chat to Xav or Emily (the brewers) and of course sample the lager, either beside the roaring turf fire or outside in the courtyard. Based in what was the old Creamery Building in Dingle the lovingly restored site is steeped in history and tradition and is now reclaiming it’s position as an integral part of the town even getting to host some music acts for the filming of the RTE series "Other Voices".

Our visitor centre has been getting great reviews on Trip Advisor and Travel Writer and Journalist Pol O’Conghaile rated the Lager as No 1 Best Kerry Gem in his article in Aer Lingus’ in-flight Magazine, "Cara"

Since the first pint of Tom Crean’s Fresh Irish Lager was poured in the South Pole Inn at twenty five to seven (18:35) on the anniversary of Tom Crean’s birthday things have gone from strength to strength. Within 3 months of release, the Lager won the inaugural Hot Press ‘Golden Bottle Opener Award’ for the best drink brewed in Ireland and was awarded a score of 10 out of 10 from Michelin Star Chef Kevin Thornton. The lager was introduced to the Dublin market at the Taste of Christmas event in the National Conference Centre last November where it was extremely well received. Since then the Dingle Brewing Company have brought our Tom Crean’s Lager to many other events nation-wide where it has been given a great reception with more and more people beginning to recognise the brand.

We at Dingle Brewing Company are over the moon with how the first year has gone and have big plans for the coming years. Without the support of the publicans and the consumers it could have all been very different.

Well now consumers and fans alike will have the chance to share in the future success of the Dingle Brewing Company. We are now offering people the opportunity to buy shares in the company as we prepare for the next phase of our expansion and development

The next phase sees the purchase of additional Fermenting Vessels and an increase in the keg population to service the additional output. Rollout in this phase will be at a faster pace than stage one as the lager is being actively sought after by publicans, hotel and restaurant owners.

Stage 3: Step 1 will purchase and commission a 50hl Brew Plant which will be housed in new premises and will be capable of 6 brews per day. The Average output in this brew house is 500 kegs per week and is capable of growing to 2,000 keg per week funded from cashflow. All brewing operations will be transferred to the new premises.

Stage 3: Step 2 will purchase a Stil and allow for distilling of whiskey in the original premises which will now concentrate fully on Whiskey production at a rate of 5 cask per week on average. These costs will be carried from profits generated by the other premises.
In order to finance this 10% of the company has been made available to the public through the issue of "D" shares. If the coming years go anywhere near as well as the first one there should be considerable success for all to share in.
