This is food for thought. A public planning application made to Leitrim County Council for change of use, to turn a garage into a microbrewery.
A frustrating amount of red tape -- and remember this is only the planning permission. Nothing to do with Revenue etc.
It's disappointing that time and effort needed to be spent on the most basic of things like:
1. Explaining to the CoCo that to rent a premises would cost money
2. Explaining to the CoCo there is no need for a staff toilet to be installed as the "staff" (husband and wife) own the adjoining house
3. Getting on to the HSE for their opinion on the toilet in the house issue.
Also, there is an office in the house but it has been stipulated that an additional PP application is needed if this is to be used as part of the microbrewery!
And on top of all the usual costs there's a €1,025 "development levy" despite the fact that there is no new development, only a change of use.
Very disheartening to see this level of red tape.
