A bench capper is the only way to go. I can't tell you how many bottle necks I snapped with one of those nasty twin leaver cappers.

I only recently started snapping the tops off bottles with my twin lever...

I often have to go at a bottle a few times to get a good seal

myself and Beermad have had no problems at all with the twin capper i must say, does the job nicely

Maybe I'm a little heavy handed. Still, the bench capper is a gazillion times better.

Mine seemed OK at the start and got progressively worse, sounds like you're going through the same thing.

yeah it doesn't seem as solid as when I first got it.
I'll have to invest in a bench top model
