My wife got passed a fake 10€ note at lunch and found out when she went to get a coffee with it.

-Sure enough, it's a different paper, has no watermark, and the metal strip is not holographic.

What are we supposed to do with this thing? -Give it to our bank, drop by the nearest Garda station? Anyone know?

Kinda cool, I've never seen a counterfeit note before.

Glue it to the ground- tie it to some fishing gut & drag it along behind you ! see who tries to pick it up/ follow it !!!

If you take it to the bank they will keep it and give you a receipt for it. They are legally obliged to hold onto it so once it's handed over you'll not get it back.

Suppose you can count yourself lucky it was only a tenner and not a fifty.

I was actually surprised anyone was even bothering with tenners.

My work got a warning from the Gardai about counterfeit €5 notes a few months ago. There must be decent money in it. <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt=":?" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? -->
