Delivery from America 18 years 7 months ago #1

Hi all, I am trying to bring in some stock from America. I am trying to find the most economical way of doing so. Can anyone recommend a courier service. I hear the prices can be quite high. Has anyone any experiences of this.

Where are you shipping it from, (state) and where are you located.

I'm living out here now, I send stuff home from time to time.

Have you someone over here you can have it sent to, and then them ship it to you. You can have them mark on the customs forms "returning items left on holiday" so you won't get stung with the big tax hit on the home front.

If only I'd known, I had 4 of the lads out last week for a golf holiday, they just went home on monday, could have had it sent with them

Bugno,
I bring goods in from America from time to time. No matter how much or little your going to take the weight is going to be the killer. As VA said make sure the customs declaration says " returning goods home or get whoever your dealing with to mark it as a gift!! I have been stung in the past with import duty and vat on some things ( anything with a value over 19.99 is liable for duty and vat).

I would recommend you check with the person your dealing with over there as American postal rates are usually better than ours. I have used DHL ( expensive) or the cheapest is UPS GROUND which does take quite a while.Shop around and Good luck.

USPS (US Postal Service) has a calculator[/url:36kz5gah] which will give you an estimate based on weight. They should be cheaper than UPS, the calculator gives you rough estimates of delivery time.

Just so you know, for international deliveries, USPS use Fed Ex,so UPS is likely going to be as cheap.

Also, I don't trust USPS at all, bunch of muppets.

UPS is who I would recommend, but it's all up to yourself
