It doesn't actually. If you want to spin it another way, they need another £1m in profits to match the inbev valuation ratio......doesn't seem like such a leap now does it.

Sorry Diablo, but it does, and that is not spin, its just analysing the available facts. Sure, if Brewdog's profits were six times higher, their P/E would be comparable to Inbev. But they aren't, and that's a pretty big assumption to make if you are shelling out your own money.

Also, ABInvBev shares are listed and can be sold at any time. Brewdog's share will not be. For me this is a fundamental issue, and the one which you haven't addressed.

Fair point, my bad. I also see in your first post that you said you would only shell out for the basic £95 / 4 shares. At that rate you might get some value out of the discount offered on their website and your downside would be pretty minimal.

I only chipped in at all because some posters described this as an investment in a way which understated the very real risks associated with it.

I Take it my use of the term investment is what is being referenced here

Investment is an inherently risky business , anyone who tells you that investment is about secure growth and solid stocks or anything that basically lies and says you'll always win , is someone you shouldn't listen to . If it sounds too good to be true , it probably is .

You will note that I said their Turnover to valuaton ration would push out the possibility of a return to Medium term ( that is 5 -5 10 years )
I also said if someone had a few pound [u:i4mpnc4t]spare[/u:i4mpnc4t]( by which I meant £200 ) you could park it there for a few years .

In all likelyhood that would beat a savings account over 5 years ( for small money ) so it would be worth it .

Only if the company floats or is bought though . Both of which are likely if the company keeps turning profit for the next five years .

No - one in here said invest your pension in brewdog or anything like .
