tis indeed. Weirdly enough, I just placed an order on Amazon and [i:1n6if5cx]almost[/i:1n6if5cx] bought his Ultimate Beer book. Kinda wishing I did now. I have his 500 Best Beers one, and it's a nice coffee table type picture book for flicking though and drolling over. RIP indeed.

Sad to hear - he did a lot to promote good beer and was one of those responsible for getting them into the 'mainstream' media.

What a shame. He did more to promote good beer on this side of the Atlantic than any other individual. The cause of good beer has lost a champion.

That's so tragic. I know I'm probably not alone on this site in saying that he was a huge influence in awakening my interest in beer. I was just reading his Great Beers of Belgium last night. I'll be raising a glass to him tonight. R.I.P. Beer Hunter.
