I love the small crunchy type pretzels that you get in bags over here but I'd never tried the large ones you always see in American movies. So couldn't wait to try them when I was over in New York last year. I hate the real thing, we used to have them in the bars in Germany, not so much mind as I was up North and was very rarely ever down South.
I never liked them in any case, but some people go mad for them.
The wife has made bagels which are similar in so far as they get boiled in a solution of DME and they were really good, but I just don't like the chewey brezel.

I'm surprised as there is one in Blanch centre, US based franchise as my wife knows the brand.
