I have indeed and I have a bottle in my beer fridge at the moment. It is intense stuff at 20% ABV but by no means the best big beer I've ever tasted. The hop character is not at all what I thought it would be considering they push it as a hop heads dream. The 60 and 90 minutes IPAs are much better.

It is very difficult to get Dogfish Head beer in certain parts of the States so getting it into Ireland will be an acheivement.

Dogfish Head 18 years 9 months ago #9

I just got back from a trip home to the states where Dogfish Head 60/90/120 Minute IPAs are available in the right places-usually your beer speciality stores and the occasional party store. They are becoming more and more available though. I had both the 60 and the 90 minute IPAs but didnt try the 120 version. They were a bit too strong for me, and I didnt think that the hops came through as much as I would have imagined it would. If you are looking for a really hoppy beer, then I would suggest getting ahold of the Stone Ruination, which I tried and is available a bit more than the Dogfish Head beers in beer stores in the states. Stone has some other good beers as well if you are there some time.

yeah jspruit, i was over in San Diego in Feb and i went to the Stone Brewery, the Ruination is fantastic isnt it? and the IPA of course! i tried the smoker porter which i have to say is quality too, the arrogant bastard is nice, on first impression i wasnt too impressed but it grows on you, yeah 20% is pretty out there! i love thr American IPA's, i dont mind settling for goose island at the minute, its really a great IPA, was the first i had and stayed with me ever since

Had the 90Min IPA at Great British Beer Fest in London a couple of years ago. Was pulled through a glass tube filled with whole hops (Randall the Enamel Animal!) and was simply mindblowing. If it wasn't for the alcohol content I'd have drunk the cask dry! Also had a couple of bottles at same fest 5 years ago which I brought back to Dublin-was expensive stuff though, about £7 Sterling for a 750 ml bottle but worth every penny. Pleassse get it in to this country-I'll take out a mortgage to buy some if I have to! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
