Hi guys, I'm a noob at the brewing, been thinking about it for years but just brewed my first batch last month with success. However, I'm on my third batch and it's the Coopers I.P.A. kit, I was meticulous with directions but premixed my yeast with a 1/3 cup boiled water that maybe was not cooled enough. Also, I used dark Muscoveda sugar 500g mixed with wort. I am not seeing fermentation start yet, any ideas???

How warm was the water and how long since you pitched the yeast?

The wort was cooled to 20 degrees with water added, it's been about four hours or mopre now and still no activity. I've heard that there can be lag time...

The yeast are still getting used to their new environment. At the moment they're respiring aerobically using the oxygen in the wort. When they go anaerobic in about 12 to 18 hours it'll get interesting.

Relax there is nothing to worry about, you'll wake to the sound of an airlock in the morning <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> let us know how you get on
