Is there anywhere up Dublin direction doing such lessons ? I assume 'the well' is Cork ?

I was thinking of sharing my very limited knowledge of brewing with complete noobs, and starting a begineers homebrew club in the North East Dublin (baldoyle) area. Are there any folk in north Dublin interested in some sort of brewing rotation, where three or four randomers turn up on a brew day, help, chat, brew beer, learn and return the favour a few weeks later ?

I've been using such a system to convince some co-workers to try brewing, and so far two of them have ordered basic kits. They seem nervous of starting with all grain, for some demented reason <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

the BBC is basically the breakfast brewing club. Interested parties can bring their equipment, and do up a brew, getting tips from Peter and Paudie. It's basically just a good platform for getting started with all grain, and takes a lot of the mystery out of it. I did my first all grain there last summer and haven't looked back since. New brewers are reccomended to bring a bit of breakfast. There's usually around 5 people brewing, but that fluctuates, and there's usually at least one non brewer who will take care of the George Foreman. Not sure if anything is fixed for the next one, as don't think there has been one since December. Rebel is usually involved with organising the date with the lads in the well, so can probably advise better. Are you looking to get into all grain? I notice that you are based in blarney. I am not far from there, so you are always welcome to come along when I am doing a brew, even though I am by no means an expert.

Cheers,
Billy.

Maybe I should've thought of charging...

I'm teaching two guys to brew this Saturday at my house (Robust Porter).

It WOULD be great if there was an inexpensive commercial outlet for this sort of thing that I could direct people to when I'm out of town.
