There's a good range and what passes for value in Norway at the larger city centre Vinmonopolets, and there's also this place[/url:eq36s7tq].[/quote:eq36s7tq]

I have my few locals in Oslo, although despite going there at least four times a year I still weep every time I pay €9 for 500ml of bland and fizzy Ringnes Pils. Just read your article, Mikrobryggeri and The Beer Palace are two of the places I go when in Oslo. Beer Palace usually has one beer on special so it's about €6 for a bottle, last time I was there it was Hansa. The other pub I go to in Oslo is O'Reillys, nothing in the way of craft beer but it does show rugby on the telly

An interesting beer style I found in Oslo is Vørterøl, a non-alcholic beer. Basically it is an unfermented beer, I assume it translates as Beer Wort. The Norwegians told me it is an energy drink but I reckon it would be easy to just add some yeast, leave it for a while and then enjoy

Sounds like the malzbier you get here in Germany. My son loves the stuff. Actually, I quite like some brands of it too (Pinkus Muller do one!).

The in beer bars in Oslo at the moment seem to be Olympen[/url:mx7oekjb] and Bar & Cigar, though I've not been to either.

As for Norway:

Nøgne Ø brew some really top class beers and Haandbryggeriet ain't half bad either, plus I think they have the coolest concept for a brewery if you don't want to take the risk of giving up your job to go pro.

Sounds like a good plan to me!
