He is particularly passionate about this porter. I was fairly dubious given the mediocrity of the Utenos lager currently on the shelves here but might give the porter a try when he gets it in.

Welcome aboard, You wil see that us regulars on the site from Cork speak very highly of the Abbot, the Bierhaus and the Franciscan. I presume you have been to the latter two also.

We will no doubt try to arrange a meet up in the not too distant furure. Have had some difficulty in same in lsast six months but maybe in February we might try to arraange a meet.

I alao have happy memories of Isaac Bells - just wished too that I knew a bit more about beer at that time!!!!

cheers for the welcome 17 years 4 months ago #12

im back again thanks everyone. Called into the abbots tonight fairly hectic not, is the recession that bad or am i the only one left drinking midweek ?:) the bierhaus is excellant along with the well. well done to dave havent been to either in a while but will try to rectify that soon. To be honest the reason i harp on about the abbots is cause before christmas i got my hands on a bottle of aged sani chlaus.brewed in 98. what a drink, bit pricey but honestly for something that tasty definately worth it. Hope everyone gets out to support the three best bars in town soon. sorry shane of the well didnt forget you.Lets not allow the supermarkets to take over the drinks trade like theyve done everything else. okay so thats me for tonight thanks again for the welcome and will look forward to meeting for a social delerium tremons sometime <!-- s:lol: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif" alt="" title="Laughing" /><!-- s:lol: --> cheers
