Thanks for the welcome and nice comments on the book.

I don't have abibliog as such but all sources will be among my collection of papers etc., it would take a little work to put it together.

I got a lot of info from the Guiness Archives at the Gate. They're a private collection so you can't just walk in unfortunately.

Although I haven't seen a copy as it's hard to get but Alfred Barnard's Noted Breweries of the United Kingdom may be worth trying to track down. It was written late 19C. His whisk(e)y version is a classic and has a lot of (rather too detailed) info of all distilleries in Ireland at the time. As the breweries one is "Noted" it may not be as comprehensive.

Did you by any chance happen to see anything like that in there?

I got a copy of Barnard's Noted Breweries (a trilogy in four parts, I love it) and he only has a handful of Irish breweries in the volumes. But it's great reading being more a travel guide than anything else. I love his description of the Jarveys on O'Connell Street trying to get his business

Actually, this is the thread[/url:fj3zcox5]that inspired the mapping project TBN was referring to in his earlier post. The Wiki I refer to in the article isn't ready yet, but some day...

Ahh, yes. We had been wondering if there was anything like lists of what the lost breweries made, brewing manuals, bills and such like. We are so short on detail all we have is a big list of locations. And very few with actual names
