Morrissey used to be a bit of a home brewer himself, though he quit because he kept over-priming his bottles.

There was an album about it, I think.

Wine is also dodgy if you're a veggie. A lot of wines are fined with isinglass. I had a few veggie friends who'd only have veggie wine.
