Hi all,

Are there any recommended readings on setting up a microbrewery or even on contract brewing (possibly with a specific focus on Ireland)?

I know nothing beats the real things in meeting/visiting actual breweries (something that I plan to do also) but some reading materials would be worthwhile too if any available.

Is Sam Calagione's book worth a look - may be too focused on the US market?

I doubt you'll find much on a topic that specific. I'm sure there's stuff on setting up a small business in Ireland, though. Public libraries tend to be good for that sort of thing.

You'd really need to talk to people in the industry. It'd save you a lot if time looking for books.

There is a course coming up in Galway at the end of June that might be useful, although various state agencies run courses around the place as well.

I seen the course in Galway alright and looking to see if I can work it to get over.
Has anyone here taken part in this course? The content looks quite good and it seems to be the only one this year where the Speidel rep is attending so probably the best one to go to.

The Microbrewers Handbook by Ted Bruning has a lot of info, more UK related. Lots of suppliers etc. are listed in here although it was printed on 2007, so not bang up to date.
