WOW, there is a brewing system on adverts 100l stainless for 2,500. I suppose thats what you pay for a skid system

Sometimes it's frustrating to wander onto these pages......I guess we're not going to please everyone!

Hopefully most of you would see that bringing the best brewing equipment in the world (Kaspar Schulz) into the Irish craft brewing industry is a good thing for Irish craft beer and the Irish craft brewing industry. This is the brewing equipment that Sierra Nevada and Firestone Walker use. Given the standard that we were looking for - I think it is clear that we weren't driven on saving a few euro.

To my knowledge there has only been one professional scale brew house fabricated in Ireland in recent time (the mentioned Rye River system). Yes there are many stainless steel fabricators who install brewing equipment and fabricate some brewing vessels (such as fermenters) - we had conversations with some of them (including BCD in Charleville) when assessing our options on our original brew house. However it is beyond my ability to specify in sufficient detail the configuration of a brewing system refined over a 336 year period to get it replicated locally.

The local benefit will happen. We will be using many specialised stainless fitters and tradespeople to put the brewery. We have already demonstrated our local operational benefits through employment and from using Irish barley.

I hope some of the more reasonable commentators here can join with us and celebrate what will be a major achievement for a young Irish craft brewery.
