Árainn Mhór on the move 18 years 3 months ago #1

A colleague from the Internet beer community passed on to me an e-mail he received in response to a query he sent to Árainn Mhór Brewing Company asking if the company exists and where its beers are made:

[quote:3cegg8pq]We are currently in the process of relocating our brewery/visitor centre on the island to larger premises. During this period we are having our beers contract brewed by a brewmaster in Belgium using the same recipes as developed by ourselves obviously.

To answer the question below, yes we do most definitely exist and are selling our beers all over Ireland with export to Japan, Sweden and UK.

Gerry

Moving on from beer to pork pies, perhaps?

He's quite the marketeer.

Never encountered any of their beers in Tokyo, and I did a fair bit of markey research. One Japanese lad taking a bottle home to his family from holidays does not count as export, otherwise Quilmes can claim exports to Ireland...

So is he suggesting that they did all ready brew on the island?

or is he just giving that impression?

He does seem to send some mixed signals, i was in touch with him through e mails not to long ago and he did admit to me that the beers are brewed in Belgium. He didn't want to tell me who was brewing them but was under the belief that it was the best brewery in Europe . He said he visited over 40 breweries in Ireland, England and Europe and maintained that the brewery he choose made up batch after batch till he was happy with the products. I think maybe he could be a bit more honest but despite that and at the end of the day i like his beer and if i could get it locally i'd buy it. I know there's some negative feelings towards him especially after the "we have a rat in the camp" or whatever it was thread i hope he does get his brewery up and running on the island and i wish him every success in the future.
