I don't know what the Dublin setup is. Do the Porterhouse own the premises in Dublin? Or do they rent? Or do they provide the name and beer and the properties' management take on everything else?

The place where the Porterhouse is has been owned by the same people for years as far as I know. They've gone through a couple of different incarnations, with different style bars in the three different parts. There's now a pizza restaurant in the place that was longest disused. However the Woolshed and the Porterhouse both shared a late license on New Years Eve with the event happening across both bars. I don't know if the Porterhouse was officially a Porterhouse at that point, but they were serving Porterhouse beers from Porterhouse branded taps. They also use the same staff, security and management as the Woolshed (up until last week and it is officially a Porterhouse now.) I wouldn't be surprised if it was some form of franchise or agreement between the brewery and the people who own and run the building.

Ah the penny drops. You have no location on your profile so we just assumed you lived with all the other cool people here in Dublin <!-- s:P --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif" alt=":P" title="Razz" /><!-- s:P -->
