April Waterford meet up 14 years 2 weeks ago #7

Another great meet-up.
My stand out beer of the day and the most unique beer I ever tasted was MAF's bog oak smoked ale, really good.

Great to see the crowd growing and some more brewers bringing along beer to sample.

Yeah was good crack alright the bog smoked beer was good alright - although the draught punk ipa still tastes good - even this morning !!

I enjoyed the smoked ale too and the kiwi ale. The "mystery" ale not so much
The best thing about these meet ups though is the chat. I get some great tips and ideas every time.

Great standard of beers across the board, home brew in the South East really is going from strength to strength. the only really flawed one was the 'mystery' one I brought. It was definitely the Blonde I brewed way back in Feb 2010, so it was no surprise it was a bit past it's best!
While (almost) all the beers were a great standard, it was interesting that each brewer had something they were not happy about - we strive for perfection

Quick mention for Flash too; had a good chat with him beforehand and it was great that he joined for a bit and got his new barman to sit in too. Fair play.

Flash contacted me yesterday to tell me he has an empty brewdog key keg[/url:1fmb4uvs] if I want to autopsy it, its one of those bag in a box type things. I am going to pick it up this week to have a look. I don't think it would be reusable but I am curious. It could be the way forward for any micros who want to export draught beer
