Well as tempting as a boot full of yellow fizzy stuff is, I am sure I can find something more interesting <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D --> I have had good French beer before, it does actually exist believe it or not.

I've never seen good beer in France....although I haven't looked for it outside supermarkets. It's not really taken seriously as a drink there. Good cider in Brittany.

I think in general you will find it doesnt go much past fischer and maybe Jenlain at a stretch. In fairness to kronenburg i did come to have abit of soft spot for it after many months

anyway sorry back on topic, is this like a souped up version of GBBF?

Pelforth Brun is widely available at the supermarkets and is quite pleasant as the mass market beers go. You'll also find the likes of Leffe/Grimbergen etc.

Well I have to say I liked some French beer I have had that is readily available in Ireland.

3 monts for instance is something I enjoyed and would not mind trying it again and perhaps some others from the brewery.

I have heard good things about La Goudale so perhaps I can try some over there.

As Bigears mentions though, apart from French beer I can also be on the lookout for imported Belgian beer on the cheap.
