Thanks to the Beernut for dragging us all away from our pints long enough to vote and for organizing the frames and certificates for the awards.
His photos are from the start of the day when everyone seems quite sober. Mine are from later on...

I think some of the brewers were sampling all around them and that's why they look so happy with the awards.

I agree the Cask Purgatory was a lovely beer. The Druid's Stout was great as well. I used the fact it was a limited edition as an excuse to drink far too much of it.

Eh? Purgatory beats Hooker??? Methink me smelleth the vile odour of a home-town referee Smile[/quote:1169oisj]

I think the novelty of the cask pale ale and the Druid's Stout helped them. The voting used a computer so it must have been on the level

Seriously, though, if any ICB member does want the full statistical results, let me know and I'll e-mail it to them. Result sheets with named judges will only be sent out to those who actually voted, however.

My formal(ish) article on the awards is now published[/url:3qlf9bn8]. If anyone wants to write something about the Festival generally, please feel free.

cheers TBN, you did a great job of organising us on the day. purgatory really did deserve to win, i felt myself that the hooker old style porter should have come higher possibly the Beer of the Festival but eh thats the way the cooki crumbles.
It was great to put some more faces with the names, even if some of those faces were becoming a bit blurry after about three pints of purgatory and one too many MM imperial.
Anyhoo the festival was good and i think the awards went to the best beers (didn't try druid brew myself, pity, too many beers too little time, maybe we can run it over two days next year? if im allowed back that is )

i would liek to concur with the comments complimenting Beernut on doing all the calculations. I also agree with Noby re the point that I did not have the regular hooker either as I can have it frequently and like it very much. It is good that we have consensus re which were the best beers overall if not all i order we had consistency so we must be at least half right!!!!!.

I would also like to add that I thought the
UCC Irish Lager and the Silver from Hilden were also lovely pleasant drinks that I would be happy to have and recommend on any occasion. I returned on 8unday having missed the Award Giving but still saw the Certificates on display. Well done guys - looked most professional

It is great to put faces to some of the non-local scribes we have met through the site and overall I thought the atmosphere of the Well was superb.

Here's to the nes one!!!!
