All beer is sold in 150ml tankards @ €2 per 150ml, or €6.66 for 500ml. Doesn't strike me as particularly good value.

Not according to the Irish Times write-up on Saturday. They considered it good value. I wonder where they usually drink.

My thoughts exactly! Stale beer at an exhibition is a poor showing.
(Though I haven't tasted Epic lately to see how they're holding up - has anyone?)

Not so - you can get Espresso Stout and Sunburnt Golden Ale at Redmond's in Ranelagh, when they manage to keep it in stock.

Based on past years, this is a better forum for beers that are about to hit the market here than beers that never will.

Ah, didn't realise that Redmond's had Dark Star, will have to take a look.

As for how the NZ hoppy beers holding up, the answer is not very well. Had a couple at a tasting the other week and they'd dulled down something rotten - all the delicate flavours of the NZ hops had more or less been swallowed by the malt.

I mailed Redmond's a couple of times over the past months asking when/if fresh NZ stock would be coming in as I wasn't fancying parting with a tenner for a stale malt-bomb...no reply.
