8 Degrees Winters Ale 14 years 5 months ago #1

Picked up a bottle of this in McCambridges in Galway on Sunday. Great gourmet shop by the way picked up some pressies there too. Like this beer a lot, well spiced and pretty sweet too. It really reminded me of mulled wine, and I like that too. Great to see 8 degrees collaberating with other Irish companies and Dungarvan too with their Coffee offering. My favourite 8 Degrees so far..

I was disappointed by this offering to be honest.
I really like their pale ale and their porter but this one tasted too much like medicine. I was hoping for something a bit more subtle

i had their red and ale before and wasnt impressed at all.
This winter one was very nice though, good mixture of tastes and quite strong. Id be buying it again.

Superyum! Cloves are there, but star anise is the spice that came through most for me. Had to consciously restrain from necking this back (at 7.5%!)

I had a few bottles of the Winter Ale last week. Lovely balance of spice and hops, and a warming glow from the 7.5% abv. A real fire-side ale.

I agree, very drinkable for a beer with so much punch.
