New book.[/url:11n3lgdj]

The Beermaster's Table is one of the books I go back to most often, so if Garrett Oliver is curating this new one, then I'm in.

(If I can lift it, that is - 960 pages!)

Cheaper link perhaps? <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.bookdepository.co.uk/Oxford-Companio...Oliver/9780195367133">www.bookdepository.co.uk/Oxford- ... 0195367133

Free shipping too... bought loads from them, they are now owned by Amazon.

I did a comparison yesterday between the two sites, and all three books that I was buying were cheaper on Amazon. You do get free shipping with book depository, but also get that with Amazon if spending over a certain amount. I think doing a comparison is the main thing.

A saw at the index a mention to ''history of Brazilian breweries''. Nice (I think G. Oliver have been to Brazil, in fact)!

Thanks for posting this, Richard.

The initial reviews indicate that its' got a ton of research and is super accurate. The other author, Horst Dornbusch, literally wrote the book on Alt beer and Helles; I was eyeing his book on Alt beer as I just got back from Dusseldorf late Saturday night and was looking for some inspiration but apparently the recipes in that book were anything but authentic (crystal malts instead of Munich) and were basically useless for making Alt beer.

I'd be curious if anyone has gotten their hands on this book yet if there's a section on Alt beer and what the recipes look like. If Horst has updated his content and recipes for Alt beer in this, I could kill two birds with one stone with this book...
