CAMRA ejects BrewDog from GBBF 14 years 10 months ago #1

There's a CAMRA side to the story, I'm sure, and even then both parties are too self-impressed for me to feel bad for anyone.

Fun to watch, though!

Hard to know who's telling the truth isn't it. Like their beers, not so big on the "we can do no wrong" publicity style.

I'd be with Brewdog on this.

Dispense schmispense, who cares as long as the beer tastes good.

Though not sure if they're taking the pish with the photos, seems odd to include the ones in their article if it's not taking the pish.

They should set up a renegade festival at the same time as the GBBF, perhaps in Nottingham the weekend before when I'm there!!

CAMRA are saying that they had agreed to take 50l kegged beer, as long as it was keg conditioned, but Brewdog wanted to give them 30l key kegs, which CAMRA say would cause them logistical problems.

Brewdog claim that CAMRA agreed to take kegs then changed their minds and demanded casks.

One thing that both sides are agreeing on is that CAMRA did (initially at least) agree to take kegs off them, so this has nothing to do with dispense.

Looking at both stories, it seems rather unlikely that CAMRA would agree to take kegs, then suddenly realise that they don't like kegged beer and try to get out of it.

On the other hand Brewdog behaing like dicks to CAMRA and then trying to spin this into a Brewdog verses CAMRA stick in the muds thing for the sake of publicity, does seem quite plausable.

If all brewdog where interested in was publicity then it would appear that CAMRA walked into a trap. All publicity (as is said) is good publicity. <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->
