I'll have to see if anyone in the office is going to Blanch at lunchtime so <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->
Carlow ship their stout off a tanker to be bottled in Britain. It is unbeliveable that this is the most economic way of doing it. Small brewers in this country just don't have a snowballs chance of starting up because of the cost.
I could be wrong but I think other than Guinness/DIagoe group, Beamnish and Crawford (for Miller etc) and C&C (Bulmers/Magners) there are no other bottlers in Ireland which is obviously a huge problem for small brewers. Starting up their own bottling lines would probably ube prohibitive. Sounds crazy to have to brew beer in Ireland and then have to export it to have it bottled.
Whitewater in Kilkeel, near Newry, do their own bottling, but this seems to be the exception all right. At least I think it's them. Séan paid them a visita while ago and witnessed the bottling in action.
