After buying two O'hara's stouts after the switch to the new brewery, I took a little break from O'Hara's; (the strong roastiness that I liked was gone and it wasn't replaced by anything).
I decided to pick one out last night again and I'm really impressed; the best O'Hara's stout yet!
Still less roasty, VELVETY SMOOTH with a bit more sweetness; it's simply gorgeous. So much more multidimensional than just pale malt + roast barley.
(Picked up another one tonight.)
I also made some "Sinamar" today (I'm going to give the Schwartz beer treatment to my Wit.) but before I strain it and see what it does for a Wit, I decided to add a bit of O'hara's stout to it instead. The result IS REALLY nice and has me thinking...
I take back everything I said about the O'hara's switch; it was definitely a good thing.
