Stone are considering opening a brewery in Europe and are looking for expressions of interest. Video here[/url:1xo4abgc]. I'm sure there's room in the Irish economy for another American multinational.

I like how the video goes black and white so that we can understand that they are making jokes and know when to laugh. Like recorded laughter in sitcoms

Ireland might not be too appealing. While the corporation tax here is maddeningly low for companies operating elsewhere in Europe, brewing could be the one industry that a multinational wouldn't bother with because excise is so high. They could put their accountants on it and see how it all balanced out. Google recently did the British exchequer out of 1.6 billion quid by routing profits through Ireland.

A craft brewer with some cash and an aggressive advertising style would be very welcome. It might shake things up a bit, but Stone are still small fry compared to the big guys operating here.

But the excise duty wouldn't effect exports/intra-EU sales as they would be bonded until released in the country of destination so it would be the UK excise duty when sold there, Belgian when sold there etc..

Could make good use of the Beamish brewery? Cork Port for exporting. Or Dublin Brewing Companys old building?
