Speights Gold Medal and Monteiths Original, not bad for crappy styles in my opinion.

I've heard that you can get Monteiths in England.

Certainly was a shame when Monteiths and Macs sold out and relocated most of their operations from W.Coast and Nelson. Macs Gold seemed to suffer the most from the switch.

The NZ dark lagers (Macs Black, Monteiths Black and Speights Old Dark) are still my beers of choice.

Speight's Old Dark is very good, I thought. They had a chocolatised version of it when I visited which was even better.
