Brooklyn Lager: Tesco 16 years 6 months ago #1

Brooklyn Lager is, and has been for a while at the larger Tesco stores and is a WONDERFUL, more hoppy alternative to Sam Adam's Boston Lager. The new stuff that I just picked up last week is by far the hoppiest and freshest tasting I've tasted in Ireland. (Picked up at the "big" Tesco in Dun Laoghaire on the high street.)

If anyone has tried it or tries it in the future, please let me know how many bottles out of your six pack (the only way they sell it to my knowledge) turn into beer bombs! -I think I'm about 5 beers out of every 6 pack.

Does ANYONE have any idea WHY these would turn into beer bombs and foam so much? They don't seem to be overly carbonated (for an American Lager anyway), they also leave INSANE amounts of lacing on the glass basically forever. -I have a conspiracy that they're using some sort of chemical additive that aids in head retention/formation that also makes them foam like crazy after you open them... can't back that up, though.

I've had 4 6-packs over the past few weeks and hey've all been fine. Some of them were best before September 09 and some are June 2010 (I think). All tasted superb too.

And they're still €5.49 <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Oh and I drink it from the bottle so can't comment on the lacing

I've gone through about 6 or 8 sixpacks of this in the last year, all from tesco and supervalu, and this has never happened to me. no lacing either, although I often drank from the bottle.

I got a 'few' (ahem) Best Before Sept '09 six packs recently for 2.99 and they have all been fine.
